Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage Traditional head massage ("champi" or "champissage") has been practised for over a thousand years in India. The use of different oils according to the season kept women's hair strong, lustrous and in beautiful condition. Head Massage would also be offered by barbers.

Modern methods were perfected by Mr. Narendra Mehta. One of the most important developments was the introduction of an Ayurvedic element of chakra energy balancing and the extension of the massage element to include massage of the face and ears, enhancing the overall effect.

Benefits

The gentle massage improves the blood supply to the brain, lifting mental tiredness, promoting clearer thinking, and improving concentration. Migraine, Sinusitis, Insomnia/disturbed sleep and Tinnitus are among the conditions helped by the treatment. Depression and anxiety can also be alleviated whilst improving the condition of the hair and scalp.

The Treatment

Massage of the head, neck and shoulders is wonderfully stress-relieving. Muscles are loosened, tension is released, and the circulatory and lymphatic systems stimulated. Negative energy is soothed away and a deep sense of relaxation helps balance the chakra and induce a feeling of mental and physical wellbeing.
